We currently have an opening for an Environmental Engineer who is looking to progress their career with an established and forward thinking building services practice.

You will be an integral part of a multi-disciplined team working on a variety of projects covering all sectors within the construction industry. The position can either be within our Glasgow or Edinburgh offices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be able to carry out BREEAM and SKA Assessments.
  • Have a working knowledge of WELL and LEED.
    Manage project specific certification and targets with a range of sustainability rating tools such as BREEAM, WELL, LEED and SKA.
  • Carry out Low to Zero Carbon technologies reviews, calculations, assessments and produce reports with recommendations.
  • Be an integral part of MEP/HVAC equipment option reviews, sizing and optimisation and work hand in hand with a building physics team.
  • Be actively involved in building regulation (Section 6 and Part L) compliance assessments.
    Provide training and support to other internal team members.
  • Work competently on an independent basis or as part of a wider team and be responsible for reporting to line manager.
  • Communicate directly with other design team members, including attendance at meetings, where required to suit project needs and sustainable design solutions and targets.
  • Manage your own workload to suit project deadlines and requirements.
  • Establish and maintain a good working relationship with internal and external design team members.
  • Be actively involved in compliance with RSP Business Management Systems.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience and working knowledge of an MEP environment on multi-disciplinary projects.
    Accredited LCC and LCEA assessor.
  • Good and confident communication skills.
  • The candidate should demonstrate a strong work ethic and a drive to uphold company values and a personal pride and commitment in the delivered information to the Client, Design and Construction Teams.

Requirements:

  • Valid UK Driving Licence.
  • Willingness to do overtime, when and if required.
    Must be prepared to travel within the UK. This may involve early morning starts, late finishes and occasionally overnight stays.
